My Red Cross ties are with the "RED RIVER CHAPTER" in Duncan Oklahoma. I started helping the Chapter in 1988. My largest project was to build an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in a large room that was'nt being used. First I built an Equipment and Operating Console. The next big project was to come up with enough equipment to make the facility operational.... Wow! Did I ever take on a project! As time went on I finally got enough equipment to handle a couple of Amateur Radio bands, numerous Public Service Frequencys, then progressed to computer aid with IBM computers. I managed to get enough computers Donated from IBM in Oklahoma City, to supply the EOC and the Main Offices at our chapter.

As time continued, I became a Board Member of our chapter and served for 7 years total. At the same time, I operated the EOC in actual Emergency Situations with the help of area Amateur Radio Operators and Law Enforcement personnel.

Many Thanks to the Chisholm Trail Amateur Club for the all the help in the EOC!

Many Thanks to the Duncan Police Department and Their Off Duty Police Officers for all the help in the EOC!

Many Thanks to the Stephens County Sherriffs Dept. and Their Off Duty Deputies for all the help in the EOC!

You Too can help and make a big difference in your local Red Cross Chapter

In 1991, I also became a Communications Consultant on a National Level due to my years of service in the commercial 2-way radio service, Television, Video and computer service. Now I travel short distances away to speak at City Council Meetings and with Public Service officials. I also attend Emergency Communications meetings to advise & assist other Towns & Cities in Emergency Preparedness and their Communications Centers or dispatch facilities.

Here are the 2 busiest people at the chapter. They are the ones that "make it all happen". (above)-Emma (below)- Pat, the Director.

I think Pat is telling Ken.."No Ken!.. Do Not Take My Picture!!"
